Description
Thomas Brooks lived from 1600 – 1680. He wrote extensively and his writings are contained in six volumes. Charles Spurgeon said of him: “Brooks scatters stars with both hands, with an eagle eye of faith as well as the eagle eye of imagination.”
This first volume contains his famous Precious Remedies against Satan’s Devices. Additionally, it contains Apples of Gold, The Mute Christian Under the Smarting Rod, and A String of Pearls.
While the puritans are known for their verbose writing, their in-depth understanding of the Scriptures is priceless. Known as physicians of the soul, we can greatly benefit from their books.
